Retail Repair Tech Specialist

We're in business to preserve our beloved planet. Your role will contribute to this mission by conducting repairs on technical outerwear, clothing, and bags for our customers in the store.
By fixing our customers' garments, you won't just be actively involved in safeguarding our planet, but you'll also help preserve the history of the products and contribute to more outdoor memories for our customers. You'll have the chance to engage with customers and witness their satisfaction when they leave the store with their newly fixed item.
Main Responsibilities:
- Performing high-quality repairs on our technical products using industrial sewing equipment.
- Assisting walk-in customers with their repair needs.
- Disassembling all irreparable items to salvage trims and spare parts for reuse – minimizing waste.
- Overseeing product intake and outtake, and ensuring system maintenance in the absence of the repair admin.
- Managing trim inventory by checking stock levels and completing reordering forms as necessary.
- Collaborating with the team to maintain quality, communication, and turnaround time standards.
Requirements:
- A love for the outdoors.
- A commitment to planet preservation and creating a positive impact through your work.
- Experience in repairing technical products and outdoor textiles, such as sports gear, backpacks, down jackets, Gore-Tex materials, etc.
- Proficiency in using a heat press machine.
- Familiarity with industrial sewing machines, basic maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Basic knowledge of zipper line replacements.
- Comprehensive understanding of fabric layers and their functions.
- Basic hand-sewing skills.
- Language proficiency: Fluent in German and English, additional European language skills are a plus.
- Enthusiasm for learning and creativity in product repairs.
Desirable Skills:
- Patternmaking abilities.
- Experience in direct repair engagement with end consumers.
Additional Information:
- This is a full-time position located in our Munich store.
- The store operates 6 days a week, and you may be required to work at least one weekend day every two weeks.
- We are dedicated to making impartial decisions and providing a positive experience for all job applicants at Patagonia. Our interviews include standardized questions focusing on key success factors for the role. Additionally, this position will involve a practical test to showcase your skills.
