The Clinic for Internal Medicine 3, Division of Nephrology, Linkermann Laboratory, focuses on clinically relevant cell death mechanisms and therapy with a focus on nephrological diseases and solid organ transplantation.

Starting at the next possible point, we are looking for a

Postdoctoral research fellow (f/m/x)

This full-time position is initially limited to 12 months. Remuneration is in accordance with the collective agreement of the Länder (TV-L).

The candidate enjoys access to technical platforms, core facilities and preclinical animal work.

The laboratories are located at the University Campus of the Hospital Carl Gustav Carus Dresden, in the new MITS building (Metabolic-Immunological Diseases and Therapy Technologies Saxony).

Collaborations with excellent basic research institutions, selected research labs in the Medical Faculty and groups at the Max-Planck Institute for Cell Biology and Genetics have been established and provide a research environment that allows for internationally competitive projects.

Even though we will initially offer a 12 months contract, funding for a long-term extension has already been successfully secured and is intended to be offered to the candidate following integration into our research team.


The ideal candidate is driven by natural interest in mechanisms of cell biology and the ambition to translate findings in molecular biology into clinically relevant translational strategies.

We expect solid wet lab experience (cell culture work, western blotting, FACS, cloning). Additionally, expertise in protein biochemistry, molecular medicine and mouse work is welcome.

Your profile:

  • successful Ph.
D. thesis in molecular biology, molecular medicine, biochemistry, life sciences or similar

  • very good knowledge of the English language
  • team competence as an attitude
  • independence, flexibility, resilience
  • excellent communication and presentation skills
  • excellent organizational skills
