Tasks:
Selection of topics that can be developed as part of a working student activity or a thesis:
1. Evaluation of the machine learning features store FEAST in the context of event-related game history data.
a. Evaluation and introduction of FEAST:
b. Integration of FEAST into the existing data collection and processing process
c. Assessment of the suitability of FEAST for event-related game history data

2. Conceptualization and prototypical implementation of processes to ensure feature data processing steps in the training, evaluation and use (inference) of ML models
a. Evaluation of existing approaches and tools for process support
b. Development of appropriate processes
c. Concept for integrating the processes into an existing ML platform
d. Prototypical implementation and testing of the processes

3. Research and evaluation of open source tools to support and implement data governance in platforms for data-based software solutions
a. Classification, delimitation of data governance
b. Systematic literature research on tools in this environment
c. Classification of tools (including scope of functions in the context of data governance)

4. Research and evaluation of ML approaches for situation assessment and course of action in both civil and military environments
a. Systematic literature search
b. Classification of approaches
c. Technological classification of the approaches
5. Evaluation of various API gateways and their use
a. Differentiation from the service mesh
b. Use in different environments (Docker, standalone, Kubernetes, ...)
c. Comparison of the functional scope of individual products (e.g. Apache APISIX, Kong, etc.)
d. Analyzing open source vs. commercial and developing a position paper

  • Computer science students
  • Knowledge of German and English
  • Analytical thinking skills and a structured way of working
  • Ability to work in a team and discuss
