**AMBOSS** is a tool for learning and clinical decision support that aims to empower doctors worldwide to offer top-notch care. Our founders started this journey in 2011 to develop a tool they wished they had during their medical studies. Over time, we have expanded and currently operate in 180 countries, with significant success in Germany and the US. Presently, we are pursuing our mission with a team of 500+ employees in our offices in Berlin, Cologne, New York, and Cagliari.
Are you prepared to join our cause? In your role within the **General Ledger and Tax team**, you will play a vital part in maintaining **AMBOSS's** tax integrity. Your main focus will involve adhering to international tax regulations and improving our tax processes to meet legal requirements efficiently.
In the initial 12 months you will:- Lead and oversee tax registration projects in various international jurisdictions, concentrating on VAT/GST/Sales Tax as well as federal and income taxes.
- Proactively monitor duties for future international tax registrations.
- Recognize potential tax risks and execute strategies to reduce them.
- Guarantee precise and punctual tax reporting and payments in all areas of operation.
- Conduct reconciliations and audits of all pertinent tax accounts, maintaining strict financial control.
- Assist in preparing financial statements with accurate tax-related details and produce comprehensive tax reports and analyses.
- Promote ongoing enhancements in tax processes by adopting and implementing best practices.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, management, and external partners including auditors and tax authorities on all tax matters.
- **Bachelor's** or **Master's degree** in **Business Administration**, **Finance**, or related fields. ACCA or similar **Accounting Certifications** are highly appreciated.
- Minimum of three years of professional experience as a tax manager, in accounting, tax consulting, or a similar role with exposure to tax management being a significant asset.
- Showcased project management skills with a history of meeting deadlines.
- In-depth understanding and practical experience in handling international VAT and Sales Tax filings is advantageous.
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills, along with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, capable of effective teamwork while upholding reliability and empathy.
- Advanced proficiency in spreadsheets, capable of handling complex data and formulas.
- Experience with accounting software (Datev or ERP) and tax engines (Avalara or similar) is a bonus.
- Fluent in both **German** and **English**, with professional proficiency in written and verbal communication.
