Data Management Scientist (f/m/d)
As a Data Management Scientist (M/F/d), you will enable the connection of data to improve data sharing processes across all sites, technologies, and
R&D phases in Crop Science as a key leverage factor for our Reg. Science digital transformation.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will construct and maintain ontologies using semantic web technologies, methods, and standards.
  • You will perform biological data integration, e.g., of genes, proteins, organisms, and traits through the design and implementation of algorithms
and data models

  • You will handle the automation of ontology maintenance tasks in a master data management environment, considering the companywide
framework for control and responsibility for data.

  • You will lead master data resolution project teams consisting of experts from various functions and regions.
  • You will carry out training courses for data stewards regarding processes and the relevant tools for editing master data.
  • You will support data management organization through "in sourcing" of external knowledge and standards.

WHO YOU ARE

  • You have successfully completed a University degree in natural sciences (e.g., biology, biotechnology, bioinformatics) or several years of
experience in comparable positions.

  • You have experience in building and maintaining (bio) University degree in natural sciences (e.g., biology, biotechnology, bioinformatics) or
several years of experience in comparable positions.

  • You have ontologies as well as in automatizing ontology maintenance tasks (e.g., using scripts).
  • You have experience with master data management (data stewardship and governance), biological data integration as well as algorithms design
and implementation.

  • You have experience in semantic web technologies and standards, e.g., with OBO, RDF, OWL, SHACL, ShEx, SPARQL, SKOS..
  • You are familiar with graphbased data systems (e.g., triple stores).
  • You have a very good understanding of ontology editing tools as well as of public resources as gene ontology, protein ontology, organism ontology,
plant ontology, traits ontology.

  • You have a high ability to solve problems and to structure and simplify complex tasks and ability to contribute to an international and dynamic
research and development team.

  • You are Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
