Starting from 01. June 2024, the Institute for Electrical Machines, Traction and Drives is looking for aResearch Associate (M/F/d)
in the field of Sustainable Power Electronics
**(EG 13 TV-L, full
- or part-time)**The position is to be filled on a fixed-term basis for two years.
The aim is to continue employment beyond this period.
About the new project:
The IMAB institute is working on sustainability of power electronics. The transformation of electrical energy supply and mobility towards greater sustainability requires more and more power electronics. These power electronics solutions themselves should be sustainable. For this reason, analyses and designs must be carried out with regard to environmental compatibility and recyclability.
Your tasks
- Design of power electronics components and systems under environmentally friendly aspects
- Collaboration on Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) or Rprinciple analyses e.g. Recycling
- Concept studies for sustainable power electronics designs
- Realization and operation of sustainable power electronics designs
Your Qualifications
- You have a degree (Master's or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering
- You have very good knowledge of the German and English language.
- You are flexible, can perform under pressure and work well in a team.
- Experience in at least one of the areas mentioned is a prerequisite for employment:
- Design of power electronics components or systems,
- Characterization of power electronics components or systems,
- Use of Circular Economy methods in the field of electrical engineering,
- Ageing of power electronics and lifetime estimations.
