Amazon is looking for a Senior Tax Manager specialized in International Tax with a background in German direct tax to join the EU direct tax advisory team.

The position is available in Munich, Luxembourg, and London.

This is a great opportunity to work with a high level of collegiality and independence, supporting Amazon Consumer business, Operations, and other business lines.

A significant amount of time will be dedicated to supporting the growing business, with involvement in cross-border advisory projects across the EU. Additionally, business partnering and tax audit support will be key aspects of the role.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, respond quickly to urgent situations, and resolve problems affecting various groups.

Key job responsibilities include:

  • Advising, coordinating, and solving problems across a multifunctional team.
  • Supporting international and local tax controversy teams in German-speaking countries.
  • Researching and documenting direct tax issues, including collaboration with external advisors.
  • Reviewing new business initiatives and assessing their impact on existing processes and systems.
  • Investigating and addressing internal and external information requests.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

A background in German direct tax matters and fluency in the German language are essential.

  • At least ten years of advisory experience in a relevant field.
  • Proficiency in English and German.

A Bachelor's degree in tax, accounting, finance, or a related field is required.

  • Experience with German tax legislation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • A recognized professional tax qualification (Steuerberater) is desirable.
  • Being hardworking, a quick learner with a positive attitude, and maintaining a high level of professionalism.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to understand complex processes.
  • Capacity to handle ambiguity and shifting priorities effectively.
