Amazon is looking for a Senior Tax Manager (International Tax) with expertise in German direct tax to join the EU direct tax advisory team. The position is available in Munich, Luxembourg, and London.

Joining this team offers you the chance to collaborate closely and work independently, supporting various Amazon business areas such as Consumer business and Operations.

You'll dedicate a significant amount of time to supporting the growing business while also participating in cross-border advisory projects across the EU. In addition, you will engage in business partnering and provide essential tax audit support.

The ideal candidate should have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, respond promptly to urgent situations, and tackle issues affecting different teams effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate, coordinate, and solve issues across diverse teams including business, legal, accounting, and finance.
  • Assist international and local tax teams with tax audits in German-speaking countries.
  • Research and document direct tax matters, work with external advisors, and present tax impacts.
  • Evaluate new business initiatives and assess their impact on current processes and systems.
  • Handle internal and external information requests effectively.

This role is open in Munich, BY, DEU.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of ten years of advisory experience in a reputable accounting/consultancy firm, law practice, tax authority, or in-house at a company.
  • Proficiency in English and German.

Must hold a Bachelor's degree in tax, accounting, finance, or a related field. Additionally, familiarity with German tax laws is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A recognized professional tax qualification (Steuerberater) is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Diligent, adaptable individual with a positive mindset and professionalism.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong analytical skills with a good understanding of processes and systems.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and handle changing priorities.
