Scientist MoA & Bridging Assays, Frankfurt a.M. (all genders)

As a key member of our Plant Physiology Excellence Team, you drive the research activities in the discovery, evaluation, and optimization of active ingredients in Weed Control with cell-based agrokinetics and mode of action diagnostics approaches. With your expertise and dedication, you significantly contribute to the success of our company, and you are an important part of our team.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

You are an integral member of global multi-disciplinary teams and work in close collaboration with other R&D and business functions and key stakeholders across the company You proactively initiate, drive and support research projects on herbicide mechanisms (e.g. specific assays for Mode of Action diagnostics, in vitro to in vivo optimization, determination of substance concentrations in cells as well as target engagement analysis) including planning, coordination, and evaluation of their scientific progress Furthermore, you proactively offer expert advice and state-of-the-art tools to identify new weed control solutions and contribute to new business ideas, drive forward automation and digitalization to generate operational efficiencies and new scientific capabilities You contribute your experience in DMPK/ADME understanding and knowledge about Plant Physiology and Plant Biochemistry and translate it to directly impact research projects You work as an enthusiastic researcher (all genders) in a dynamic and scientifically exciting global network covering Crop Protection and Pharma, bridging biochemical, biological, and chemical research as well as data science You drive an extensive scientific network of academic and industry collaborators and contacts In addition, your tasks also include a functional and scientific leadership role within a self-organized team including supervision of graduates, PhDs, and PostDocs

WHO YOU ARE

PhD degree in the field of Plant Physiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacy or comparable You have several years of experience in plant biochemistry, (plant) cell biology, molecular biology, as well as experience in analytics is an advantage Moreover, you are experienced in managing technical employees or supervising diploma/BA/MA or PhD students Expertise to work in interdisciplinary teams embracing a strong collaborative spirit Outcome and science-driven mindset putting the next key deliverable and Go/No-Go of projects in the focus High degree of social competence, good communication and organizational skills characterize you Joy in demanding challenges and a high degree of self-motivation Excellent English skills both written and spoken complete your profile, German is an advantage
