Operations at the core of Amazon. This essential part of our organization ensures the efficient fulfillment and timely delivery of orders to our customers. As an Area Manager, your responsibility is to maintain the smooth operation of your site to meet customer demand effectively. You will lead a team dedicated to ensuring the safety, efficiency, and quality of our operations, while also driving various projects to enhance productivity across our network.

Key Responsibilities:
  • - Establish and promote a culture of safety and well-being
  • - Analyze and implement changes to maintain high levels of quality and productivity
  • - Supervise projects to streamline processes and enhance service quality for customers
  • - Evaluate shift performance and take corrective actions to enhance operational excellence
  • - Collaborate with management colleagues to standardize shift practices
  • - Flexibility to work weekend shifts when necessary to support Amazon's fulfillment network 7 days a week
A Day in the Life:

On a regular shift at one of our sites, your focus will be on maximizing productivity. You will drive a culture of safety, uphold quality and performance standards, oversee process improvements, and mentor new managers. Your day will be dynamic, involving team management, operational tasks, process enhancements, and operational contingency activities.

About the Team:

The Amazon Transportation Service (ATS) team plays a key role in Amazon's success by facilitating efficient transport operations through air, sea, and road. As part of this team, you will contribute to utilizing data for decision-making, driving innovation and efficiency within Amazon. Safety is our top priority, and our team's expertise ensures timely and sustainable package delivery to customers.

Basic Qualifications:
  • - A degree
  • - People management experience
  • - Effective communication skills with various stakeholders
  • - Utilization of data to influence business decisions
  • - Proficiency in verbal and written English and local language
Preferred Qualifications:
  • - Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen techniques
  • - Previous exposure to logistics environments
  • - Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
