Area Manager

As an Area/Shift Manager at Amazon, you will lead a large, diverse team and ensure that your business area keeps up with demand. In this hands-on role, you will become familiar with the complex operational processes of a global company and learn what it takes to keep everything running smoothly. Collaborating with your colleagues, you will work towards increasing productivity and overcoming challenges, with no day being the same.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promoting a culture of safety and well-being
- Analyzing and implementing corrective measures to consistently ensure high quality and productivity, as well as cross-shift adherence to all company objectives
- Supporting and leading a team, handling administrative tasks, building and supporting a strong team culture
- Analyzing performance and providing process improvement suggestions to optimize workflows and customer service
- Collaborating with other managers to standardize shift processes
A Day in the Life:
You will work in different shifts at one of our operational sites, focusing on team adherence to safety standards and overseeing process efficiency. Your daily priorities include routine team management, operational activities, dealing with escalations, process enhancements, and cross-operational emergency planning.
As a key member of the operations team, you will collaborate with colleagues from other teams and external partners, ensuring that customer requirements and internal standards are always met. This involves data analysis, performance metric assessment with business area leaders, and discussing operational pros and cons of technical improvements with the technical team.
About the Team:
Our Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) Team is essential for fulfilling Amazon's fast delivery promise. Working closely with air and ocean freight companies, road hauliers, and our state-of-the-art sorting centers, you play a crucial role in our supply chain's success. We analyze data to make decisions and further enhance Amazon's efficiency and innovation.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or nearing completion of a bachelor's program
- Advanced English and German language skills in speech and writing
- Relevant experience in data analysis
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in communicating with various stakeholders, including colleagues and executives
- Logistics environment experience
- Proficiency in working with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional setting
