Your responsibilities

 

  • Provide legal advice to Uniper`s business units, mainly Uniper’s sales organisation, but also to the support functions within the Uniper Group in the areas of (international) contract law, general civil law and dispute resolution.
  • Collaborate closely with commercial departments within the Uniper Group, especially the sales department, and provide legal advice on ongoing relations with customers and suppliers for various commodities including greener and more sustainable products. This includes drafting, maintaining and advising on standard contract templates, but also legal advice and support in developing innovative products and sustainable solutions for our customers.
  • Provide legal support in contract negotiations in cooperation with the respective commercial colleagues.
  • Manage litigation and arbitration proceedings including selecting and steering external legal counsel.
  • Offer legal training for Uniper’s business and support functions.
  • Coordinate with all members of the business (across the globe) in helping to resolve the day-to-day legal issues of the global energy business and the energy transition.
 

  

Your profile


  • Qualified German lawyer with strong academic credentials
  • First relevant experience, either in-house or private practice
  • Experience with commodity trading agreements such as EFET appreciated
  • Good understanding of commercial, technical and political contexts with commercial focus and clear solution orientation
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously in a dynamic, global environment
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, judgment, enthusiasm and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to embrace change in the fast-paced energy world in the midst of transition
  • Ability to take the lead and work independently on any responsibilities within the area of responsibility
  • Focused, well organised, team orientated and adaptable personality
  • Fluent in German and English
  • Be a credible and trusted lawyer who is able to build strong relationships at all levels of the business and with all internal and external stakeholders, acting as an objective and impartial adviser
