For our office in Hamburg we are looking for an

Investment Associate / Analyst (m/f/d)

to join our growing team of investment professionals. We focus on making investments that support the energy transition, ranging from renewable energy assets to value-add private equity infrastructure propositions, which we originate, execute and manage to exit.

Your Responsibilities

  • Conduct market and industry research to assess and benchmark potential investment opportunities and continuously monitor broader market trends
  • Analyse financial statements, valuation models, and other investment metrics to evaluate and structure potential investments
  • Build, evaluate, and stress test financial models
  • Prepare investment memoranda and presentation materials to support investment recommendations
  • Support investment due diligence processes, including the identification and mitigation of key risks
  • Actively work with internal and external departments (e.g. risk, legal, tax & accounting) to ensure successful due diligence & investment execution
  • Effectively work with external counterparties to evaluate, structure, and finance both existing and new investments
  • Monitor portfolio investments and assist with the periodic valuation process
  • Support fundraising efforts and investor relations activities
  • Provide ad-hoc analytical support to senior members of the team

Your Qualifications

  • University degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field
  • Additional qualifications (i.e. CFA, CA) are beneficial
  • 2-5 years of professional experience in a private equity or M&A environment
  • In-depth knowledge of best practices in financial modeling and valuation techniques
  • Eager to develop yourself further in specific areas of expertise (i.e. financial modeling)
  • Strong understanding of finance and investment principles
  • Committed interest in the energy transition and/or infrastructure experience will be considered favorably
  • High attention to detail, strong analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal). Other foreign languages are an advantage
