At the heart of this journey is our People Operations team, focused on enhancing employee experiences and fostering a culture of excellence. As the People Process & Compliance Manager at DeepL, you will be instrumental in refining our People operations, enhancing the efficiency of people processes, and ensuring compliance across global and local levels. The role involves redefining our foundational practices, identifying compliance necessities, and architecting new processes to fortify our People framework. You will be leading pivotal projects and collaborating with global stakeholders to evolve our People systems, nurture an exceptional employee experience, and ultimately support DeepL’s strategic ambitions.

Your responsibilities

Evaluation and refinement of People processes and policies, aiming for organizational efficiency and an elevated operational climate

Management and distribution of all applicable guidelines, policies, and processes. This critical responsibility includes ensuring that these documents are comprehensive, up-to-date, and effectively communicated across the organization to support clarity, compliance, and operational excellence

Design and implementation of robust internal controls within the People team, aligning with company standards to mitigate organizational risks

Serving as the primary point of contact for all People Compliance and Risk Management inquiries within the People department

Facilitate collaboration with internal and external auditors, ensuring audit success and the execution of recommended improvements

Strategic partnering with Finance, Legal, and other compliance units to harmonize requirements, pinpoint gaps, set priorities, and oversee the documentation of control measures and mitigation efforts

Leading People-related compliance communications, training, and educational initiatives

Industry benchmarking to stay current with trends, compliance processes, and best practices

Qualities we look for

Profound understanding of relevant People processes, systems, and policies

Proven track record with internal and external audit engagements, driving successful outcomes and actioning improvement recommendations, preferably in a global or international context

Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas, foster cross-departmental collaboration, and impact stakeholders at all levels

Skilled in data analysis and reporting, deriving data-based insights and employing methodologies such as the Kaizen Lean method for continuous improvement

Experienced in developing internal controls, formulating risk management strategies, and crafting effective risk mitigation plans
