The 1st Institute of Physics at the Georg-August Universität Göttingen invites applications for a

PhD Position in the field of condensed matter physics (f/m/d)
(Salary group 13 TV-L, 75 %, 29.85 hours per week)

The position is available in the research group of  Prof. Dr. Thomas Weitz. In the project you will investigate organic semiconductors with local spectroscopic methods (scanning near-field microscopy (SNOM)). The position is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) for 3 years.

What we offer:
Within the advertised position, you will learn how to manufacture organic semiconducting thin films and characterize them with charge transport measurements and local spectroscopic methods. We operate state-of-the-art near-field microscopy, both at room and cryogenic temperature.

As PhD student you will be enrolled in the Georg-August University School of Science (GAUSS), a structured PhD program.

What we are looking for:
You have completed your scientific university studies with a master’s degree in the field of physics, with above-average grades and ideally have very good knowledge in condensed matter physics, nanofabrication or spectroscopy or ideally near-field microscopy.
