The Trademark and Licensing team in Fairtrade International’s Legal Affairs unit has the exclusive responsibility for managing the licensing brand and trademark strategies to ensure consistency and implementation globally. The unit’s services cover a wide range of languages, legislations, cultural contexts, currencies and customers. The Student Assistant will provide comprehensive support to the Trademark and Licensing Manager by assisting with a variety of tasks critical to the success of the Trademark and Licensing team. Key responsibilities include: assisting with the maintenance of trademark registrations, processing invoices and supporting licensing operations. Additionally, the Student Assistant will help with administrative, organizational, logistical, and analytical duties to ensure the efficient operation of the team. MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Assist with maintaining the Fairtrade trademark portfolio, focusing on trademark registration renewals and collecting specimens to provide evidence of Fairtrade trademark use in specific jurisdictions
- Support the Trademark and Licensing team in ensuring the smooth operation of licensing activities
- Process invoices promptly, including following up with service providers to resolve discrepancies or errors, addressing any questions, and maintaining detailed records of all trademark-related expenses
- Conduct information research tasks as requested
- Assist in the preparation and compilation of documents
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Trademark and Licensing Manager

- This is a 6 months position with possibility of an extension to 12 months
- Weekly working hours: 16-20
- Location is at Fairtrade International offices in Bonn, Germany

- Salary as per the Collective Bargaining Agreement for the Wholesale and Foreign Trade Industries for North Rhine Westphalia and Fairtrade International Company Agreement on wages and salaries Group II
Was wir erwarten:
- Enrolled in a state-recognized university
- Must be a currently enrolled student in a Bachelor/Master’s degree program focused on development studies, law, sociology, development economics, agriculture, agronomics, business administration or related field
- Exceptional organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Strong proficiency in data management software, ideally with experience using Salesforce
- Excellent English language skills are required; proficiency in additional languages, particularly Spanish, French, or Portuguese, is highly desirable
- Flexibility and a willingness to assist with a variety of tasks as needed
- Eagerness to learn and develop new skills and knowledge
- Strong communication and intercultural skills
- Service-oriented mindset
- Genuine motivation to support Fairtrade principles and initiatives
