We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional as the Head of Accounting Operations (m/f/d) for an ECB regulated Corporate Investment Bank in Frankfurt, Germany. As the Head of Accounting Operations (m/f/d), you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the ac-counting operations, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance for the bank. This is a leader-ship role that requires strong technical expertise, excellent management skills, and a deep under-standing of the banking industry.
Accounting Operations Management:
Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger management, accounts payable and receivable, fixed assets, and bank reconciliations.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transactions and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Prepare and review financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, in compliance with local accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Ensure accurate and timely submission of financial reports to management, regulators, and other external stakeholders.
Conduct periodic financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and provide insights to senior management.
Regulatory Compliance:
Stay updated with the latest regulatory requirements and accounting standards applicable to the banking industry in Germany.
Ensure compliance with local regulatory guidelines, such as Basel, IFRS, and other relevant regulations.
Collaborate with internal audit and risk management teams to support internal and external audits and examinations.
Team Leadership and Development:
Lead and manage a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and support to foster a high-performing and motivated team.
Set performance goals, conduct performance evaluations, and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Proven experience in accounting operations, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance in an international financial institution or consulting firm
Strong knowledge of IFRS and local accounting standards (HGB)
Excellent understanding of banking products (FX and derivatives), and related accounting principles.
ability to explain to senior management and senior front office staff any accounting-related matters
Fluent in German, both written and spoken. German language proficiency is a hard requirement for this position.
