Advanced Practice Nurse - Gastroenterology

Decypher is seeking Advanced Practice Nurse - Gastroenterology candidates to support the ADCMS IV Contract at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center. This position will [position summary]. Responsibilities

· Performs a variety of professional direct health care clinical duties within the field of Gastroenterology. Specific duties range from the performance of evaluation for routine colon cancer screening to the management of moderately complex acute and chronic illnesses related to gastroenterology. Appropriate and prudent utilization of ancillary services and consultants is expected. Completes all necessary outpatient record entries and admission/discharge paperwork as well as progress notes as required by hospital regulations and standards of practice.

· Identify, assess, and manage auditory, balance, and other neural systems. Provide comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures of the hearing and balance mechanisms including intraoperative monitoring of the cranial nerves, cerumen removal, cochlear implant assessment and management, post-urography, and other advanced balance mechanism evaluations.

· Review accompanying consultation forms and records, independently determine appropriate tests, adapt test techniques, and utilize clinical judgment based on audio logical and psychological precepts.

· Conduct routine tests, to include air conduction, bone conduction, speech reception thresholds and speech discrimination, including high intensity speech discrimination testing.

· Counsel beneficiaries as required regarding problem(s), interpret results and provide guidance and advice on educational and training needs. Provide narrative summary of each patient to referring physician and other interested agencies.

Required Experience and Skills

· Master’s or Doctorate Degree as a Nurse Practitioner

· Graduate from an accredited master level or doctoral program acceptable to DA that prepares RNs with additional knowledge and skills to practice as a family or adult nurse practitioner.

· Certification by a nationally recognized certifying body appropriate to the specialty area of practice. Certification will be maintained for the duration of the individual’s advanced clinical practice.

· As required to meet clinical competency requirements specified in the Service-specific credentialing instructions.

· NP's will maintain a current, active, valid, unrestricted RN license in at least one U.S. State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction. In addition, the NP must possess a license (or other authorizing document) for advanced practice issued by either the State Board of Nursing granting the RN license or another state
