As a Cost Engineer your expertise and passion for value driven cost solutions will champion the development of our cost culture across Rolls-Royce. You will actively engage and implement innovative approaches together with Design, Manufacturing, Procurement and Aftermarket that will determine the future success of our aerospace business. You will think big and make a difference

Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home or another remote location. It’s a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement. As a minimum we’re all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, on average three days per week.

What you will be doing

With this exciting opportunity you will get a chance to:

use your knowledge, experience, and supplier intelligence to create component cost estimates, influence cost effective design solutions as part of a cross-functional team (Design to Cost), identify and analyse cost drivers to effectively support & influence supplier negotiations, partner with commercial teams to lead supply chain mapping, execute lean cost improvement workshops and support sourcing strategy creation with cost insight, be part of Manufacturing Technology Focus for ALM, Composite, Forging, Casting, CNC Machining and/or assembly process.

To be successful in this role you will need to:

obtain an Engineering Degree or equivalent industry experience, with a preference for specialized qualifications, acquire knowledge and experience in manufacturing processes related to mechanical and/or electrical, electromechanical components, apply experience in manual bottom-up activity-based, top-down, and automated product cost estimation methods, understand the design process, sourcing, product cost management, and demonstrate commercial awareness; grasp Cost Engineering & Financial principles firmly, possess fluency in English, with proficiency in German considered a significant asset.
