Research Associate

As part of a BMBF-funded joint project with Beiersdorf AG on the subject of "Skin Biology and Aging", the Institute of Bioanalytics of the Faculty of Applied Natural Sciences and Health at Coburg University of Applied Sciences is looking for

a committed and qualified research assistant/postdoc (m/f/d) to start as soon as possible.

Your tasks:

Performing and evaluating metabolome and proteome analyses using mass spectrometry
Development of cell-based assays with primary skin cells and stem cells
Isolation and analysis of extracellular vesicles
Project coordination and cooperation with Beiersdorf AG
Guidance and collaboration with project team members, consisting of two PostDocs and one laboratory engineer
Scientific processing and publication of the results in journals and presentation at conferences
Guidance and supervision of student assistants and students

Your profile:

Completed PhD in biochemistry, chemistry or biology or comparable field of study
Extensive experience in instrumental analysis, in particular mass spectrometry for metabolome and/or proteome analysis
Experience in cell culture and assay development is an advantage
Strong interest in scientific and application-related questions and hypothesis-driven research
High level of commitment, ability to work in a team and strong communication skills
Enthusiasm for experimental work and the analysis of omics data
Fluent English is required; German language is not required, but is an advantage

The employment contract concluded with the Free State of Bavaria is a full-time position with 40.05 hours per week and is limited until 31.03.2027. Depending on personal requirements, the position will be classified in pay group 13 of the TV-L.
