The Tenure-track-professorship should focus on theoretical cosmology, broadly defined: early universe cosmology, general relativity, inflation, CMB physics, large scale structure, gravitational waves, phase transitions, or baryogenesis. Candidates should strengthen and complement existing theoretical and experimental activities at KIT, in particle and astroparticle physics and cosmology.
KIT provides an excellent environment for research in particle and astroparticle physics in which the successful candidate will participate. The Institute for Theoretical Physics is part of the KIT Center for Elementary Particle and Astroparticle Physics KCETA (). KIT hosts the graduate school for particle and astroparticle physics KSETA () which provides training for graduate students.
You will execute university tasks with a teaching obligation of 6 hours per week per semester, if you have been evaluated positively. In other cases, your teaching obligation will be 4 hours per week per semester. The intermediate evaluation takes place in the third year.
