The Role

An exciting opportunity has opened up to join Kyndryl’s Cybersecurity, Privacy, Data Governance & AI (CPDA) Legal team This role will be focused primarily on AI-related matters, can be performed remotely during GMT+5:30, GMT+1, GMT or US Eastern Time business hours and is ideal for candidates prepared to be a key contributor to Kyndryl’s CPDA Legal team and AI governance activities. You will report to Kyndryl’s Global AI Legal Lead.

The CPDA Legal team analyzes and advises on privacy, cybersecurity, data governance, AI, and supply chain risks for Kyndryl’s operations and customer relations, while also identifying controls and mitigations.

You will be responsible for:

Supporting the Global AI Legal Lead, CPDA Legal team and other Kyndryl internal stakeholders in developing, optimizing and implementing Kyndryl’s global AI governance program and related initiatives. Supporting and coordinating analyses of proposed internal and third party solutions incorporating AI technology, including generative AI, and proposed uses of such AI technology by Kyndryl in support of its internal operations or customer engagements. Reviewing, assessing and advising on global AI regulations, including the EU AI Act, and assisting in the design and implementation of applicable processes to comply with such AI regulations. Assisting in the development of contracting standards and templates relating to Kyndryl’s development, use and commercialization (including in customer engagements) of AI technology. Assisting Kyndryl business, account and local legal teams on AI-related regulatory and contracting topics.

Who You Are

The role requires an understanding of AI technology, its risks and benefits, the global AI regulatory landscape and requirements and the ability to independently assess risk, recommend mitigation actions, develop and optimize internal policies and procedures, and guide and negotiate commercial terms related to AI globally across Kyndryl’s business and commercial operations in a manner that appropriately balances legal, regulatory and business risks.

To be successful in this role you will have the following experience and expertise:

JD from an accredited law school or equivalent international law degree. An understanding of global AI laws and regulations, including the EU AI Act. 3+ post-qualified years of experience in the cybersecurity, privacy, data governance or AI related legal areas. 3+ years of experience in the IT, outsourcing, managed services provider or cloud computing industries and a clear understanding of enterprise software, infrastructure, and cloud services. Experience performing legal risk assessments, including an understanding of associated Kyndryl technologies and offerings. Strong written and oral communication and analytic skills. Demonstrated business judgment and proven ability to work as part of diverse and multi-cultural teams of both legal and business colleagues.
