Company Description
Here at Volocopter, we are the pioneers of electric air taxis (electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft - eVTOLs). We have pledged to bring urban air mobility to life by getting electric air taxis and other eVTOLs off the ground in a way that complements existing transportation options in megacities across the globe. Our aim is to offer affordable, on-demand air taxi services that fly people to their destination quickly and safely. In 2011 we carried out the first-ever piloted flight of a fully electric multicopter and have since conducted more than 1,500 public and private test flights across the world ().

As the Engineering Manager Battery, you will lead our battery development team, driving innovation and ensuring optimal project outcomes. Your extensive technical expertise in battery systems, encompassing battery design, management, integration, manufacturing, and certification, will steer your team to success.
Your mission during this flight:
Technical Leadership: Harness your profound technical expertise in battery systems, encompassing battery design, manufacturing, management, integration, and certification. Guide your team through intricate challenges, ensuring excellence in every project. Timely Deliveries: Oversee on-time, cost-effective, and quality deliveries of our battery projects, ensuring our solutions consistently meet and exceed expectations. Resource Mastery: Skillfully manage team resources, including both human assets and budget allocation, optimizing performance and project success. Inspiring Leadership: Provide comprehensive leadership that encompasses both technical and disciplinary domains. Mentor team members, fostering their growth and ensuring peak performance. Continuous Guidance: Offer daily guidance, constructive feedback, and tailored coaching to your team members, nurturing their professional evolution. Team Cohesion: Nurture an environment of exceptional clarity, collaboration, and camaraderie within the battery development team. Strategic Planning: Plan and execute optimal team capacity management according to the precise requirements of each project. Interdepartmental Synergy: Collaborate seamlessly with other Team Leads and the Heads of Departments, harmonizing efforts for unparalleled outcomes.
Qualifications
Check in your professional skills:
PhD or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, or similar degree Extensive, in-depth experience in battery systems, showcasing a commanding grasp of battery design, manufacturing, management, integration, and certification complexities. Aerospace Experience: Proven expertise in aerospace applications, aligning battery development with industry standards. Remarkable Leadership: Demonstrated track record of leading engineering teams to success, shaping both projects and professionals. Technical Prowess: Comprehensive knowledge of cutting-edge battery technologies, design principles, integration methodologies, and state-of-the-art cell technology. Problem-Solving: Profound capability to unravel intricate technical puzzles and devise innovative solutions. Strategic Thinking: Ability to strategically plan and manage resources to ensure efficient project execution. Excellent Communication: Superb communication and interpersonal skills, enabling seamless collaboration and effective leadership. Project Management: Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools, enhancing project precision. Battery Manufacturing: In-depth knowledge of battery manufacturing processes, including design for manufacturing (DFM) principles. Certification Standards: Familiarity with battery certification standards and guidelines, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
