Logistics Deputy Warehouse Manager

The Logistics Deputy Warehouse Manager is responsible for our Internal Warehouse Operations, ensuring the smooth inbound follow from our Sourcing Units, as well as the smooth outbound to our customers and other Distribution Centres.

The Logistics Deputy Warehouse Manager co-operates closely with the Shift Leads and the Warehouse manager, monitoring the operations with a focus on high Service Level, team productivity, and Health & Safety, while securing the most efficient cost possible.

Additionally, you support improvement/ automation projects, and other logistics projects in Germany aiming to increase storage or distribution efficiency (service and cost) for our retail and food solution customers.

Warehouse (¬70%):

• Guaranteeing a smooth operation with the factory, as well as timely preparation/ loading of both export and domestic
• business
• Undertaking the WH and Operations capacity planning, both short and midterm
• Monitoring technical equipment (ie cooling) and Repair & Maintenance, while leading on Safety
• Solving and monitoring any service issues while informing relevant Upfield teams when necessary
• Support factories and primary transport on any transport / warehouse issues, special shipments
• Supporting Customer Service for any transport or stock issues, special shipment, late notice requests related to
• customers
• Monitoring the aging of the stocks in the warehouse while helping the business to sell out stocks before expires
• Carrying out audits and corrective actions identified/ mitigation tasks
• Leading a team of approx 45 FTEs with close collaboration and support of the WH manager

System, Automation, and improvement activities (¬30%):

• Monitor, identify and implement improvement opportunities on Cost and Service (incl. coordination with procurement)
• Support the EWM (WMS – Warehouse Management System) improvement
• Support the improvement projects (like task interleaving, AGV, new conveyor belt) as well as any other project related to
• the WH that we plan to execute in the future;
• Preparation for Stocktake (in line with Upfield Stock Count Guidelines) & execution. Coordinate with the finance team
• (suspense account and stocktake results);

Requirements

• 3-6 Years minimum experience in Logistics,
• Preferably in FMCG or other relevant industry (Retail or 3PL environment), with focus on Warehousing
• Team/people management
• German and English Language required (fluently)
