The Ideation & Customer Insights team is the competence center for professional idea generation and empirical customer research at Mercedes-Benz AG. We answer development-relevant questions in research and pre-development with customized creative workshops and test subject studies. We research the requirements and needs of current and future customers. By applying creative methods, we support cross-functional experts in developing innovative solutions and strategies. We also test technical innovations for their acceptance and user-friendliness. With our findings, we provide orientation and valuable decision-making aids along the innovation process.

The "Ideation" sub-team organizes between and workshops per year, guiding around 1, employees and external colleagues through the ideation process on topics such as new drive options, model series or mobility concepts of the future. Inspired by design thinking, Google Sprint, the persona approach and user experience methods, among others, InnoWerk has been successfully working on various future innovations at Mercedes-Benz AG for years.

InnoWerk uses a unique square meter workspace for its ideation workshops. In order to tailor these workshops to the wishes of the client, the team draws on years of experience and the continuously evolving internal collection of methods and workshop formats. The Ideation team is therefore at the forefront of the Research & Development process chain and provides support from the generation of ideas for new innovations through to advice on how to proceed and shape the next generation of vehicles.

As part of the team, you will work with engineers, sociologists, psychologists, economists and designers (d/m/w/x), among others. We also value interdisciplinarity in our interns. Depending on your background, we will work with you at the beginning and throughout your internship to develop key areas of focus to enable mutual learning.

These are some of the challenges you will face:

Joint conception as well as methodical preparation and implementation of ideation workshops Conception and layout of canvases and workshop documents Supporting the development of new workshop formats for hybrid use Participation in briefing discussions with (internal) clients Moderation of small groups Follow-up of ideation workshops Preparation of briefing documents for (top) management Qualifikationen Degree in design management, product design, strategic design Proficient in written and spoken German and English Confident handling of MS Office Methodical knowledge and/or initial practical experience with innovation workshops is desirable Enthusiasm and creativity for working in an innovative environment Structured way of working Communication skills Enjoyment of teamwork Desire and fun to think outside the box and familiarize yourself with new topics
