Project Surveyor - Southern Region

Flexible working with travel within the operational area to be agreed – primarily covering London and the South-East.

Salary: £49,738, inclusive of a £5,800 Car Allowance

Reporting to the Senior Projects Surveyor, you will be responsible for delivering construction projects and managing supply chain relationships. You will also oversee specifications, tendering, and project delivery through supplier partnerships within the agreed operational areas.

Examples of projects include:

Homeownership (Leasehold) works Complex projects One-off works requiring specifications

The role is integral to the delivery of core investment programmes, with close collaboration required with peers to ensure the Property Directorate’s overall objectives are met in line with the business plan.

You will be leading and operating in an environment of significant change.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

Accountability for the delivery of projects from initiation through to completion on site Implementation of projects in coordination with the property delivery team Delivery of several key projects, requiring a basic understanding of Section 20 of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985 Liaison with internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, portfolio strategy team, sustainability team, and housing/care operations Ensuring compliance with all regulatory, statutory, and internal governance/policy requirements, with recommendations for improvements where necessary Building a resilient service and organisation

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

A proven track record of delivering property projects, including homeownership (S20) programmes Demonstrable experience in managing high-value, complex partnering contracts, delivering high levels of customer satisfaction on time and within budget Experience in leading teams through change, ensuring that working practices are effective, efficient, and responsive to local needs Experience in collaborating with colleagues and customers to review service offerings and specifications, improving services and communicating effectively to both staff and residents Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage people effectively and motivate individuals and teams to meet and exceed performance targets

You should also be:

Flexible in your approach to site locations within the region Ideally educated to degree level or have substantial relevant experience Preferably professionally qualified or working towards a relevant qualification, , MCIOB, MRICS
