Your primary responsibility will be to support and optimize financial activities related to logistics operations and procurement processes, keeping our margins, costs and investments under control. You will do this by providing support and advice based on valuable reporting and insights. This role requires an understanding of supply chain dynamics, cost management, budgeting, and financial analysis.

You will also take an important role as project controller for some of our larger logistics investment projects.

About the role

• Financial Planning and Analysis:
  • You support in the development and management of budgets for the logistics and purchasing departments
  • You prepare financial forecasts and reports related to logistics and purchasing activities
  • You support monthly reporting & analysis on Cost of Goods Sold details

• Control and Optimization:
  • You monitor and control logistics and procurement expenses to ensure they align with budgetary constraints
  • You conduct regular purchasing & logistics cost analysis and provide insights to optimize spending
  • You will do continuous purchasing discounts & bonus analysis
  • You prepare the average purchase price developments for internal and external reporting analysis

• Performance Measurement:
  • You establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of logistics and purchasing processes. You are responsible for preparing the Logistics Scorecard
  • You track performance against targets and benchmarks, providing actionable insights for improvement

• Working Capital:
  • You collaborate with demand & supply planning teams to optimize inventory levels and minimize carrying costs. You evaluate exceptional stocking requests from a controlling perspective
  • You measure and identify opportunities to improve supplier payment terms

• Project Controlling for Logistics projects:
  • You are involved in business case development
  • You are responsible for project budget controlling for investment projects in logistics

About you

We are looking for an ambitious finance professional with a keen eye for further optimization opportunities. Needless to say, you have strong numerical and analytical skills and the ability to maintain an overview of the financial landscape. You are focused on quality and equipped with strong communication and persuasion skills.

• (Master’s) Degree in Finance or (international) Business or similar
• You have several years of relevant working experience in a Controlling or Financial analyst position
• You possess strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make strategic recommendations
• You are energized by the continuous improvement of existing processes and reports, and by adding value by supporting various departments in our organization
• You love data and manage this by extensive MS Office skills and ideally experience with PowerQuery, PowerPivot and PowerBI
• You have business fluent English skills, additional German skills are a strong advantage
