Sustainability Expert

This role supports the development and delivery of sustainable solutions that address climate challenges that Quantis clients face, ensuring that the proposed delivery meets clients’ needs. Your mission will be to maintain Quantis at the cutting edge of your area of expertise to maximize the quality and impact of our advice to transform our clients, and to continuously improve our offerings.
As a Sustainability Expert at Quantis you will:
- Serve as a subject matter expert in climate strategy
- Contribute to multiple client projects including significant projects at key account level
- Develop credible, trusted relationships with senior client project contacts
- Support sales process on complex, significant opportunities at key accounts

- Master Quantis offers within your expertise area in climate strategy
- Reliably deliver error-free and insightful analyses and recommendations in challenging analytical contexts
- Are seen as an effective team leader on projects and in the expert community
DOES THIS DESCRIBE YOU AND YOUR NEXT ROLE?
- You’re motivated to put your technical expertise, consulting and leadership skills to work towards our mission of aligning businesses with Planetary Boundaries, and you believe in the power of science to reach true sustainability.
- For 5+ years you’ve been sharpening your skills and technical expertise in a professional setting in the private sector, ideally with some experience in the consulting business, with strong involvement in sustainability topics.
- You have a good knowledge of the core Climate Strategy & Risk service area: Goal setting (Science-Based Targets, Net Zero), mitigation strategies, risk assessment and scenario analysis, main carbon accounting and reporting frameworks (GHG Protocol, TCFD, CDP, CSRD…). Experience with the following topics would be a plus: insetting, offsetting / carbon credits, avoided emissions, internal carbon pricing, Nature Based Solutions.
- You have a science-based orientation, and a deep intellectual and business curiosity, combined with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate complex information in clear, understandable ways to internal and external audiences.
- You get excited about guiding companies to understand and design transformative and science-based strategy.
- You are at ease with managing projects and collaborating with different stakeholders and you are solution oriented.
- You are motivated for teamwork and supporting a team.
- You have demonstrated the ability to coach, teach, and mentor others with your knowledge and skills, in an academic and/or corporate setting.
- You communicate effectively in fluent English. Fluency in German would be highly appreciated
- You have a Masters’s or PhD degree, ideally in Environmental Science, Engineering or any other related field.
AS A SUSTAINABILITY EXPERT FOR CLIMATE RISK, HERE’S A PREVIEW OF WHAT TYPE OF WORK YOUR DAYS WILL INCLUDE:
- Consulting with clients to assist them in understanding and implementing Climate Strategy & Risk topics with other Climate Strategy & Risk team members
- Developing unique innovative solutions to address Climate Strategy & Risk challenges together with other Sustainability Experts and Sustainability Strategists
- Contributing to ensuring internal consistency and excellence of the Quantis climate strategy & risk approach, in collaboration with local branch lead and broader Climate Strategy & Risk community
- Explaining standard Quantis solutions and their interdependencies in a credible and compelling way
- Identifying sustainability issues across the entire scope of complex problems in a rigorously manner
- Communicating complex sustainability issues and opportunity for business value in clear and actionable way
- Providing reliable proposal review
- Proactively identifying further sales opportunities at active clients
- Challenging an operating budget with additional services
- Mentoring and guiding Sustainability Specialists
- Identifying process or system improvements that could improve project team effectiveness
- Enabling the successful delivery of projects in every stage of own work
