Shipping

Managing and controlling the shipments for delivery to Varian’s customers, including transport arrangement and customs export processing Plans, performs and implements logistics process and system improvement initiatives for Europe, Middle East and Africa, or as part of global teams Serves as liaison between logistics operations teams, logistics providers, internal stakeholders and IT for system and process improvements Tracking of shipments to be on time as requested and needed

Shipping Analytics

Evaluates logistics customer support and field service commitments to ensure customer requirements are met Freight cost analysis and reporting including freight bill audit Maps and evaluates existing processes, and identifies opportunities for improvement and implement these Participates in and facilitates cross-functional project teams Analyzes best practices for techniques and processes and challenges the status quo Monthly tracking of KPIs

Misc./Ad hoc

Creating of export declarations, certificates of origin, proforma invoices Varian first mentality – always to be there for customers 1st level support for all logistic relevant topics/questions – single point of contact

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree Logistics/Supply Chain Several years of experience in of demonstrated work experience in Logistics and Transportation Experience in Customs Import and Export processes is preferred Knowledge of Global Freight market requirements Basic knowledge about customs procedures and documentation Strong experience with SAP SD and MM modules is essential Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies is desirable Fluent in English and basic level of German language skills Experience in MS Office applications and being able to use Excel for analytics of data You are analytical, communicative and focused. You work in a structured way and have an eye for details. You are used to working independently, open to discussing ideas and solutions with your colleagues. You thrive in an international work environment and in cultivating your contacts with partners in Europe and worldwide
