Let's connect: If you want to experience how things are done in the Property & Casualty Global Services team at our headquarters in Hanover / Germany, join us on a permanent basis, commencing at the earliest possible date as a Business-focused Data Science Developer Portfolio Steering P&C . 

Following intensive on-boarding, you become part of a newly founded team to establish an analytical and technical framework supporting P&C Senior Management to make informed decisions with respect to business growth and capital allocation. You will increase the profitability of P&C Business Group by designing and implementing bespoke analytical solutions with a high degree of automatization.

You can look forward to

You identify suitable portfolio analyses and data sources for integration into the framework, following the strategic ambition of the Hannover Re Executive team. You use your experience to enhance and automate reporting tools and analyses. You explore new technological and analytical approaches, e.g. Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning, to elevate our business decisions. You ensure a high degree of efficiency through the active use of technology, e.g., our platforms for Robotic Process Automation, Business Intelligence and our Hannover Re Data Science Environment. You connect the team to relevant other teams at Hannover Re Group, particularly the Digital Technology Accelerator and those responsible for our underlying systems. You engage with P&C Management to validate your solutions and ensure maximum business value. To this end, you create analyses and options for action. You keep a keen eye on the long-term operation of the framework and its productive integration into the Hannover Re system landscape.

You come equipped with

Bachelor's degree in computer science, natural sciences, engineering, mathematics, economics, business administration or similar. Experience with automation technologies from development through to operation, ideally gained in financial accounting and/or the SAP environments. Proficiency in at least one programming language and experience in using data visualization tools. Willingness to use your skills in a business context and gather experience in Property & Casualty underwriting and capital models (Solvency II, S&P, A-M.Best). Ability to present the topic and cooperating closely with internal interfaces.  Analytical thinking, open mindedness and the ability to change perspectives and approach tasks creatively. Willingness to explore methods of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning in the context of generating automated reports and data insights. Proficient user skills in German and English
