To drive our consumer-centric innovations we are excited to be recruiting for a dedicated Product Developer (m/f/d) in Herrenberg to join our Cough, Cold, Allergy and Pain Category Teams.

Scope of the Role

This position will suit an R&D professional who is seeking a new challenge and has the desire to make a difference in consumer-centric innovations. As Product Developer Cough, Cold, Allergy and Pain you will be responsible for identifying and developing innovation opportunities in order to broaden the company's product and brand portfolio. The Product Developer is also responsible for the scientific and clinical support for the portfolio. This position will collaborate closely with R&D, Scientific Affairs, Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Sourcing and our external development and manufacturing partners. At Perrigo, our Product Developer function is an integral, valued part of our business Without the important work undertaken by the R&D and Innovation team our leading self-care products such as Coldrex, Bronchostop, Solpadeine, Prevalin and Beconase would not be so readily available to consumers

Ideation: Translate the latest trends in Cough, Cold, Allergy and Pain into innovative propositions for new products by seeking new active ingredients, interesting supplier formulas, new galenic formats, Rx to OTC switch opportunities, etc. Product Development: Lead the technical development and formulation development of OTC medicines for the Cough, Cold, Allergy and Pain relief category. This includes identifying market opportunities, conducting research on active ingredients, analyzing competitor products, and working closely with internal and external cross-functional teams to bring new products to market Formulation and Analytical Testing: Support on development and optimization of product formulations, ensuring they meet regulatory guidelines and quality standards. Oversee and manage development of analytical methods, stability testing, compatibility studies, and other relevant tests to ensure product safety, efficacy, and quality including shelf-life etc. Scientific and Claim Support: Work closely together with the Scientific Affairs, Marketing and Regulatory Affairs teams in achieving the best possible claims for our products. Provide scientific support to the other functions & affiliates for the existing product portfolio

Experience Required

University degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Life Sciences or a related field Experience with all aspects of drug development like raw material and supplier qualification, formula development, analytical method development and validation, Stability testing requirements, impurities, basic clinical requirements, basic regulatory requirements (ICH guidelines, GMP, EMA regulations) Strong technical and scientific background as well as a strong affinity for marketing of consumer goods  Strong problem-solving skills and project management skills Methodical and analytical working style, sense of responsibility and reliability Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Ability to work with cross-functional teams and to collaborate closely with other departments and suppliers Fluent in both written and spoken English and German Travel requirement: Occasional need to travel to team meetings and workshops, suppliers, or fairs
