Responsibilities

As a Platform Engineer, you’ll assume a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and managing scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure solutions. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you’ll leverage modern DevOps practices and tools to automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and management processes. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in Linux system administration, infrastructure as code (IaC), cloud computing, and automation technologies.

Manage and administer Linux-based systems, encompassing installation, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems and software packages.  Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Linux server performance, security, and reliability.  Design, deploy, and manage scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.  Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks to automate the provisioning, configuration, and management of infrastructure components.  Implement Ansible roles and modules to standardize configuration management tasks and ensure consistency across environments.  Design and implement infrastructure as code (IaC) solutions using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or AWS CloudFormation to automate the deployment and management of cloud resources.  Define infrastructure configurations in code to enable version control, code reviews, and automated deployments.  Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD to automate software build, test, and deployment processes.  Integrate Ansible scripts and infrastructure changes into CI/CD pipelines to enable automated provisioning and configuration of environments.  Implement containerization solutions using Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes to deploy and manage containerized applications.  Manage Kubernetes clusters, including node provisioning, scaling, and maintenance tasks.  Set up monitoring and logging infrastructure using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or AWS CloudWatch.  Configure alerts and notifications to proactively identify and address issues affecting system stability and performance.  Implement security best practices and compliance standards for cloud infrastructure and applications, including access controls, encryption, and vulnerability management.  Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and security engineers, to align infrastructure requirements with business objectives.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.  At least 3 years of experience in a DevOps or cloud engineering role, focusing on automating infrastructure deployment and management tasks.  Strong proficiency in Linux system administration and shell scripting.  Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or AWS CloudFormation.  Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and proficiency in managing cloud resources.  Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.  Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems, and build tools.  Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) are advantageous.  Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
