Mechanic Technician

Building the first pilot unit at an industrial scale at Ucaneo to remove CO2 from the atmosphere.
We're seeking a skilled Mechanic Technician to join our Berlin-based startup, focusing on optimizing our aeration unit for Direct Air Capture (DAC) systems. Operating in an agile environment, you'll be part of a 3-5 member Hardware Engineering team, responsible for designing parts, prototyping and bringing up lab support. We appreciate experience with power tools and 3D CAD designs as well as electrical work or welding.
Key Points
- Design and develop test fixtures, jigs, mounting brackets, alignment systems, etc.
- Develop CAD models for basic components to do prototyping (preferably SolidWorks)
- Modify and improve current concepts for testing equipment
- Operate and maintain lab equipment including electrical tools, 3D printer etc.
- Bringing up lab support & instrumentation, material procurement, prototype testing, 3D printing, reporting, prototyping, etc.
Skills and experience
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical production and workshop experience and maintenance, preferably in R&D industry. Ideally, you also have knowledge and experience with electrical systems, e.g. electrical circuits and soldering.
- Proven track record of hands on work in mechanical prototyping, and mechanical assembly and demonstrated problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of using various hand and power tools
- Experience with 3D CAD Tools: High attention to detailWorkstyle and culture
- A team player with a hands-on mentality
- Excellent communication skills incl. analytical and structured thinking to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving, and decision-making skills to get things done

- Valid Work Permit for Germany, or able to obtain a permit
- Location: Exiting industrial Co-Working Space in Mazahn where we have our own industrial halls to build
