JR50638 Systems EngineerAs a Systems Enginee r in the EBU Systems Engineering at Micron Technology, you will work directly with our customers and partners systems, enabling both their and our success with the main focus on new business generation and support for Micron.
You will provide support for the whole existing Micron memory product portfolio (DRAM, NAND and NOR Flash modules and devices), validating prototype and production customer platforms (PCB boards) and system level development platforms from chip set vendors (evalboards).
You will be running and configuring diagnostic software, designing experiments, analyzing and interpreting data, creating custom tools, and presenting data to customers both inside and outside Micron. On occasion you may need to carry out these responsibilities at the customer site. To accomplish these responsibilities, you will use a variety of equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators, multi-meters, etc…). You will work with other engineers within the EBU Systems Engineering, in Application Engineering Groups and throughout Micron.
Responsibilities and Tasks
- Perform system level test, evaluation and benchmarking for the memory subsystem
- Use high end measurement equipment to monitor and debug the memory interface for signal and timing integrity(noise, spikes, potential conflicts, etc) on system level
- Analyze the behavior of system components at different end user scenarios and environmental conditions like temperature
- Enhance the system performance and value of the memory sub-system by optimizing software including the memory driver and original equipment manufacturer ("OEM") and/or chipset vendor system software.
- Perform Schematic and Layout review.
- Perform Signal and Power integrity analysis via simulation on customer board to help customers to use Micron parts optimally in their system
- Provide debug support on demand in case a system returns with a fail from the end customer
- Perform system PCB modification in hardware so it can accept a Micron product in form and function
Education
Required
Employer will accept a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field and three years of experience in the job offered or in an embedded system engineer-related occupation.

- 5 years experience in Hardware development preferably for automotive/industrial market segments.- Experience in using CAD tool for Schematic and Layout
- Experience in HW verification and debugging
- Experience in Board level Signal & power integrity simulation would be a plus
- Hands on experience in using Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer or other measuring equipment.
- Familiarity with any scripting language
- A team player, determination & analytical thinking is required
