Our team is looking for a Cloud Engineer (f/m/d) familiar and experienced with modern programming languages, such as Java or JavaScript. We are building and evolving a modern cloud-native marketing application (see www.emarsys.com). If you want to work with us, implementing and using latest concepts of cloud development such as microservice-oriented architecture, containerized deployment (Docker/K8S), service mesh, and others to solve enterprise requirements - this is your chance to make an impact at SAP-Emarsys.

YOUR AREA OF RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Cloud Engineer (f/m/d) for cloud software projects, you design, develop and operate microservices for SAP's next generation Marketing Platform (SAP-Emarsys). You will also have the chance to evaluate the fit of new concepts and technologies for new requirements of our Marketing product offering. It is important to us that you are eager to constantly learn about novel technologies in the context of cloud native engineering, distributed systems, and DevOps.

Produce clean, efficient code based on specifications within the planned timeline. Actively participate in the full product lifecycle, from idea through design and develop till maintenance. Find simple technical solutions to complex business problems. Ensure proper testing, debugging and maintenance of new and existing code. Ensure implementation of coding best practices. Create technical documentation for reference and reporting. Recommend and execute improvements. Provide recommendations to Product Managers on possible technical solutions and time/effort estimations. Follow Agile practices and participate in Agile ceremonies within the Team. Develop high quality software that meets customer demands. Actively mentor and guide Junior Software Developers to improve. Produce clean, simple, and maintainable code. Detailed and thorough technical documentation. Collaboration and effective communication within the Team.

YOUR PROFILE

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar discipline Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis 2+ years of programming experience working in a scrum team, ideally on a full stack Proficiency in a modern programming language (such as Java or Javascript/Typescript) Sense for quality assurance with experience in designing and implementing functional tests as part of the development process Ability to operate autonomously Constructive and open style of communication Working as a team player Fluent English and good German language (min. B2) skills

Optional, but beneficial skills:

Experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes Experience with multi-tier distributed systems Experience in delivering software in the public cloud (on GCP or SAP BTP)
