Anchor is looking for a dynamic Metering and Billing Officer to join our Energy & Sustainability Team. A third of Anchor’s locations benefit from communal heating systems (heat networks), and this is set to grow on our pathway to net zero as we adopt clean, efficient communal heat networks across our stock as part of a wider retrofitting strategy. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on energy efficiency and support for our residents.

Accurate metering and transparent billing is a key part of delivering reliable, clean heating to Anchor’s residents. The Metering and Billing Officer will be monitoring and coordinating a wide range of technical, administrative and customer service functions on our growing heat network portfolio, working with teams across Anchor to ensure exceptional customer service. 

This role is also responsible for developing Anchor’s metering and billing service to drive improved efficiency and performance and prepare the service for growth and change – including preparing for incoming Heat Network regulation from 2024/25 onwards. The role will manage current energy efficiency funding streams, identify and pursue available energy efficiency funding opportunities to benefit Anchor.

Accurate metering and transparent billing is a key part of delivering reliable, clean heating to Anchor’s residents. This role is pivotal in driving improved standards and customer service for Anchor residents’ metering and billing. 

You have knowledge and experience of:

Current and incoming legislation regarding heat networks  Cross organisational working and engaging stakeholders  Energy management software Metering & Billing software  Data management and analysis  Customer service  The full range of Microsoft Office

Ideally, you also have

Previous experience of heat network billing related role Office-based customer service experience

You are someone:

Able to act on your own initiative, lead and adapt to change.  With strong IT and analytical skills, data and evidenced based thinking, analysis and meaningful reporting.  Able to analyse trends and draw out recommendations.  With an attention to detail and ability to problem solve proactively providing creative and innovative solutions.  Able to provide effective and clear communication.  With an understanding of boilers and heating management systems.
