We are searching for a Senior Project Engineer (m/f/d) in Signalling and Safety Technology for Railways on behalf of a renowned client in Stuttgart, who will drive the planning and execution of complex railway projects with expertise and dedication.

In this key position, you will manage the project phases from planning to successful implementation, taking on both technical and organisational responsibility.

Deployment information:

Location: Stuttgart

Deployment Period: 1st December 2024 to 31st December 2025 (extension likely)

Weekly Working Hours: 39 hours

Working Hours: 07:30 AM to 04:30 PM

Additional Compensation: Shift and hardship allowances in accordance with the collective agreement

Job description:
  • Project Control and Coordination: You will take full responsibility for managing and coordinating all project stakeholders, from planning through to execution. In doing so, you will ensure compliance with time, budget, and quality requirements.
  • Quality Assurance and Monitoring: You will be responsible for the proper execution and oversight of planning, implementation, and construction supervision services within the field of signalling and safety technology.
  • Tendering and Awarding: You will oversee the tendering and awarding of planning and construction services, actively participating in the selection and coordination of partners and service providers.
  • Risk Management: You will proactively identify risks and develop preventive measures to minimise deviations and ensure the successful achievement of project objectives.
  • Approval Procedures: In close collaboration with the relevant authorities, you will ensure the timely acquisition of all necessary approvals and coordinate with them accordingly.
  • Reporting: You will regularly produce comprehensive reports on project progress and document any deviations from the original plan.
Requirements profile:
  • Academic and Professional Qualifications: You have completed a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Industrial Engineering.
  • Experience and Knowledge: You have a solid understanding of contract law and contract management in large-scale signalling and safety technology projects. Experience within the Deutsche Bahn Group is an advantage.
  • Leadership and Communication Skills: You are a decisive project manager who successfully leads complex projects and proactively handles both technical and organisational challenges.
  • Resilience and Problem-Solving Orientation: During high-pressure phases, you maintain composure and make well-informed decisions to ensure the project’s success.
  • Language Skills: German (min. C1), English (min. B2), knowledge of additional European languages is advantageous.
