To reinforce our Commercial team we are looking for a Senior Key Account Manager Retail.
Mission and Key Tasks
The purpose of the KAM position is to manage the strategic development of the Benelux region in the Retail channel. You will create and implement a well-defined strategy, as well as manage a portfolio of key customers within the BeNeLux region, including the follow-up of some international buying groups.
As KAM you will be in charge of:
- Creating the strategy and goals for the customers in scope
- Developing, implementing & following up the key account plans within the overall strategy for the business unit and group
- Analyzing sales and market data and using it effectively to develop (new) business, supported by category and product manager
- Managing market intelligence through store visits on a regular basis and communicate in a timely manner internally
- Meeting customers regularly, preparing (materials for) customer meetings and communicating/following up next steps/actions in a structured and effective way
- Managing all aspects of the commercial negotiations, sales development and customer interaction
- Deliver the sales and margin targets set by the annual budget
- Aligning forecasting and forecast accuracy, in close collaboration with the demand manager
- Conceiving and help implementing range changes and merchandising based on best practices at minimum cost impact.
- Maximizing return on all promotional activity and measure and report on the effectiveness of all promotion investments
Background and Experience
- Masters degree in Sales or Sales and Marketing
- Minimum of 8 years sales experience in a B2B environment
- Experience of dealing with customers at all levels of an organization
- Ideally a background in FMCG
- Experience in the private label market or related would be an advantage
- Fluent Dutch and English. Knowledge of French is an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills
- Organized and structured
- Strong/proven negotiator
- Analytical ability; able to crunch numbers and to think in a logical and strategic manner
- PC literate; advanced Excel skills
- Hands on attitude
- Multi tasker with the ability to prioritize effectively
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
