We are hiring a Strategic Buyer Direct Material EMEA to join our innovative team in Rosenheim. In this role, you'll play a critical part in shaping the future of Steelcase by leading two major material groups within our Supply Management Team and ensure a collaborative relationship with our suppliers as well as with internal functions like Design and Marketing. What You Will Be Doing: •Lead supplier relationships for Wood Millwork and Edgebanding across EMEA, including monitoring supplier performance, identifying improvement areas, and conducting regular business reviews.•Manage the material groups Wood Millwork and Edgebanding , including developing and implementing material group strategies to achieve corporate objectives around cost reduction, process improvements, quality, and supplier management•Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers across delivery locations, ensuring competitive pricing and supporting financial assessments to optimize material costs.•Conduct price negotiations and benchmarking to achieve cost efficiencies, and manage RFQ processes including supplier selection, bid analysis, and contract negotiations.•Serve as the primary communication channel between the company and suppliers, addressing day-to-day interactions as well as being the point of escalation for performance issues.•Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., operations, marketing, material management) to ensure that procurement strategies align with business goals and operational requirements, supporting new product development and future needs.•Organize and lead sourcing events to meet evolving material and capability needs for new products, while optimizing the supplier portfolio to align with future business objectives and innovation trends.•Develop and implement cost reduction strategies to improve overall gross margin and drive continuous improvement in procurement processes, supply chain management, and supplier performance.•Oversee the maintenance of SAP master data and ensure that all data related to supplier contracts, pricing, and performance is accurate and up to date.•Manage scorecard reviews with suppliers in collaboration with Material Management and Quality teams, ensuring supplier performance meets or exceeds key metrics (Dppm, Sppm, CRI, etc.).•Analyze market trends and supplier performance to develop data-driven insights for decision-making, and communicate inflation trends and their impact on cost structures to internal stakeholders.•This role could include a SAP Key User function including supporting the upcoming SAP S/4 HANA implementation. E.g. Testing the functionalities of the system, align and standardize transactions between global regions. Your Future Team: The team is located in Rosenheim with amazing colleagues responsible for different material groups and suppliers serving the European manufacturing plants of Steelcase, striving for perfect supplier performance. Who You Are:  Required Skills and Competencies  •Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or a related field•Ideally 3 years’ experience in procurement, with a strong focus on material group management, cost management and supplier performance management in an industrial environment•Previous experience negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships, conducting supplier performance assessments and implementing corrective actions Preferred Skills and Competencies •Strong financial acumen, with experience analyzing data and developing cost savings initiatives•Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills in German and English•Team player with hands on and problem-solving mindset•Analytical thinking and high developed excel skills•Proficient in Microsoft Office, experience with ERP systems (SAP - ideally SAP S/4HANA)•Work experience in a comparable position.
