Cofinity-X is a joint venture founded in 2023 by BASF, BMW Group, Henkel, Mercedes-Benz, SAP, Schaeffler, Siemens, T-Systems, Volkswagen, and ZF. Established by industry experts, our company is primed for growth and is intended to be further led by professionals like yourself.

Your mission

  • Be the first point of contact and business partner for our management in all finance-related matters and challenge our decisions based on data and financial insights
  • Own the finance agenda and make sure the most efficient and digital finance processes are in place and improved continuously
  • Proactively lead finance projects in a highly collaborative way with your colleagues
  • Develop and lead a small finance team that is growing with a scaling business
  • Be the main contact point for our external tax and accounting provider and ensure the timely and accurate preparation of our monthly financial accounts in accordance with HGB
  • Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets and profit and loss statements
  • Document all relevant finance data, processes, and workflows and ensure their accuracy and compliance with the internal control system
  • Own our budget and ensure that our cash is used efficiently
  • Own the business case for Cofinity-X and drive the development of product-based business cases with our product management and tech teams
  • Prepare monthly forecasts of the required financial data / KPIs and analyze deviations to budget and initiate remediating actions where needed
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual, as well as ad-hoc reports to review and analyze the financial health of Cofinity-X, including variance reports, and initiate actions where needed
  • Prepare and organize the monthly finance update calls with our shareholder controllers and support our CFO in preparing the quarterly shareholder meetings
Your profile

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration with focus on accounting, auditing, tax or financial controlling
  • Deep and detailed understanding (more than 5years) of accounting rules and principles according to HGB and if possible IFRS 
  • Professional experience of minimum 4-5 years in a senior and visible finance role in accounting, controlling or auditing 
  • Experience in creating a finance function from scratch in a start-up or joint venture is highly desirable
  • Very strong analytical mindset
  • High willingness to execute and drive the finance agenda proactively
  • Expertise with Datev is highly beneficial
  • Very good German and English language skills

It is a joint venture of BASF, BMW Group, Henkel, Mercedes-Benz, SAP, Schaeffler, Siemens, T-Systems, Volkswagen and ZF. The vision of Cofinity-X is to run an open marketplace for the provision of own and third-party business applications and further services that enable secured and standardized data transfer along the automotive value chain in accordance with the Gaia-X and Catena-X principles with initial focus on the European market.
