At Global Service and Parts (GCSP), we accompany the entire life cycle of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, from the service-oriented design of our products to the market launch, product support and product maintenance. We support the service organizations worldwide, if necessary also on site. We mainly work together with our partners from GCSP, Development, Production, Purchasing, Legal and Quality. We create operating instructions, write diagnostic procedures and are the experts in parts technology as well as in product evaluation and regulation.
In the service area for Mercedes-Benz passenger cars, our team is responsible for retrofit technology and accessories for Mercedes-Benz vehicles. This includes the engineering of retrofit projects, from planning and method definition to the publication of technical information. We thereby create the basis for our worldwide service organizations to realize the retrofit and accessory wishes of our customers in the usual Mercedes Benz top quality.
We offer you a variety of tasks and challenges and the opportunity to gain an insight into overarching processes and tasks as well as getting to know different areas and fields of activity within the Mercedes-Benz sales organization. Our own extensive fleet of vehicles is also available to you during your time as a working student. You will also have the opportunity to take part in internal presentations and events to expand your knowledge of technical and business topics.
As part of an IT pilot project, we have started to develop and program a web-based application. The existing web application (front and back end as well as database) is to be expanded in terms of its functionalities. In future, the MBupgrades web application will be used to receive all requests for customer-specific retrofitting of special equipment codes worldwide and to process, implement and document them throughout the retrofitting process.
You will face these challenges:
Implement service agreement and ticket system in the existing web application with Angular, Python (FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, PostgreSQL) Coordinating and implementing the testing phase of the web application together with the customer Bug fixing and customer support for queries Further development of unit tests Coordination and implementation of the application release in coordination with the requirements of the central IT department of Mercedes-Benz AG Further development of the front- and backend design Qualifikationen Degree in business informatics, media informatics, computer engineering, project process management or a comparable course of study Confident written and spoken German and English skills Good knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript (TypeScript an advantage) Initial experience with relational databases Good programming skills in object-oriented programming languages (preferably Python) Knowledge of unit testing (frameworks) Experience with full-stack development and version control systems (especially GitHub) is advantageous Experience in working with web frameworks and SQL databases Experience with cloud technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is an advantage Social competence Communication skills Ability to work in a team Analytical mindset and strategic way of working Basic technical understanding An interest in automotive technology and after-sales service processes is desirable In conclusion, we would like to say:
