Job Description

We are on the lookout for an experienced International Tax Specialist (all genders) to work with the Tax department in Berlin.

You will be one of the contact persons for all tax-related topics of our group companies outside of Germany. You are therefore closely collaborating with many colleagues from different teams within the organisation, and are therefore closely involved in exciting business models and a wide variety of tax topics. You are an internal specialist, business partner and advisor, dealing with very hands-on topics together with other members of the Central Tax Team. 

Together with our Senior Manager(s) - International Tax you provide advice, guidance and support to our foreign subsidiaries with regards to a diverse variety of tax matters, cross-border restructurings, withholding tax matters, financing implications etc. 

You will closely interact with our regional and local tax colleagues and act as their sparring partner to discuss and align tax impacts as well as tax-efficient structures of certain projects. 

You will be in contact with local external tax advisors and review and challenge advice received and share the outcome with other stakeholders within the organization in a way that the implications can also be comprehended by colleagues who do not have a tax background. 

You will support complex tax projects with a focus on international group tax law, foreign tax law as well as double taxation agreement and EU tax law. You will work with colleagues from different business areas as well as interdisciplinary teams from different hierarchical levels and in your interface function you will actively consider the different requirements of the various departments.

You may support our foreign subsidiaries during external tax audits, especially with regard to cross-border matters.

You will support the Senior Manager(s) - International Tax in overseeing and executing the process of reporting Income Tax Uncertainties according to IFRIC 23 as part of the quarterly closing of the financial statements of the group.

You will support the Central Tax Team in the fulfilment of all tax documentation/compliance and reporting obligations and drive the optimization, automation and digitization of tax processes. 

You will also have the opportunity to dive into other tax areas by supporting the colleagues of the other subdivisions within the Central Tax Team, in the Transfer Pricing, Global Mobility, Global Taxation & Policies, and M&A areas, where feasible and if desired. 

Qualifications

You have completed your business studies with a focus on tax. 

You have already gained 2-3 years of practical professional experience (preferably with a focus on international tax law) in an internationally oriented tax consulting company, in the financial administration or in the tax department of an international company.

You have some experience in the application of double tax treaties and the norms of foreign tax law and are eager to further develop your tax technical skill set in the area of International Tax. 

You have some experience in the area of withholding tax. 

You have a quick grasp and analytical skills as well as a structured and result-oriented way of working. You are open to process thinking and new technologies.

Your style of working is shaped by personal initiative, good conceptual and intercultural skills, high flexibility and great communication skills. You enjoy working in a team.

You are characterized by excellent self-organization, a high level of commitment and a healthy approach to change and challenges.

You are confident in dealing with MS Office programs and Google applications. 

Very good written and spoken English skills round off your profile, German and other language skills are an advantage.
