Could you be the full-time Layout Engineer (f/m/d) in Siegen we’re looking for
Your Future Role
Our Siegen site is an international competence center for bogies. 800 colleagues develop, manufacture, test, and repair bogies for global rail traffic, ensuring stability and comfort on the tracks. Our corporate functions play a key role in supporting and continuously improving the performance of our sites. You’ll report to [HIRING MANAGER] and work alongside a dedicated and enthusiastic team.
We’ll look for you to:

In case of tender:
-Identify the potential footprint of the manufacturing process with the Industrial Manager and the PME Manager. Evaluate impact on existing and scheduled activities.
-Evaluate the total cost of the layout, broken down in the following categories:
-Study (specification, design)
-Realization
During pre-project phase:
-Perform layout study (pre-design)
-Write the functional specification and get approval from the Process & Manufacturing engineers, Tooling manager, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and EHS.
-Perform the costing of the solution.
During project phase:
-Design (or make it sub-contracted) the detailed layout of the line or workshop.
-Integrate all specific equipment, tooling, machines and work stations in close link with the tooling engineer.
-Integrate the floor marking in collaboration with Logistic and Manufacturing departments.
-Write technical specifications, have them validated by the above actors.
-Send documented purchase request, participate to RFQ analysis, and contribute to the business award with Sourcing.
-Lead the works of installation of workstations and assembly lines, according to the project planning.
-Ensure the good respect of EHS standards and ergonomics rules.
-Lead the reception of the installation.
-Specify inspection operations, handling and maintenance instruction.

-Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing or Plant Maintenance background with 5 years’ experience preferably in the railway industry.
-Technical experience of Process & Manufacturing Engineering
-Good practice of CAD and PLM tools (CATIA, DELMIA…)
-Working knowledge in Quality, EHS standards and Ergonomics.
-Familiar with IS common tools.
-Process FMEA, QRQC
-Technical education. Mechanics. Automation.
-English read, written, spoken
