Key Responsibilities
•Management of theRobot Performance & Safety Lab, including:
oMaintenance and improvementof the existing test stands and infrastructure.
oImplement qualitymanagement for the laboratory.
oStudent/PhD-studentmentoring and work-package management for further laboratory development
oAcquiring new researchprojects within the safety and robot performance domain and activelycontributing to the development and preparation of innovative researchproposals,
oActive representation,partner and member acquisition for the laboratory at conferences, fairs, orsimilar,
ofinancial reporting,
olaboratory management
•Driving publication ofthe research project results in high-impact robotics journals and peer-reviewedinternational conferences.
•Supporting MIRMIlighthouse initiatives that aim to tackle human-robot interaction challenges
•Funding acquisitionand management of research proposals.
•Teaching activities atthe Master's and/or Bachelor’s level courses.
•Supporting the seniormanagement team for the management and administration of the institute.
Requirements
•Ph.D.in robotics, mechatronics, electrical engineering, or a related field
•Self-organizedmanagement
•Excellent researchtrack records in the field of human-robot interaction supported by publications
•Experience withprogramming robots and C++, ROS1, ROS2, LabView, or similar
•Experience inmechatronic hardware design, maintenance, or a track record of previousmanagement of hardware-related projects
•Experience inself-reliant management of research projects (financial and administrative),including leading a team
•High motivation andwillingness to work in an international and interdisciplinary team.
•Fluency in spoken andwritten English; German is a plus
Beneficialbut not required skills are:
•A well-establishedunderstanding of the field of robot safety (a specific focus on ISO/TS standardization is a plus)
