2023-24 POSITION 

Tallahassee Community College is a dynamic and growing comprehensive community college located in Tallahassee, Florida—the College’s 2022 fall enrollment had more than 10,000 students. For over 55 years, TCC has served its three-county district of Leon, Gadsden, and Wakulla counties providing pathways to economic mobility. The College enjoys a strong reputation for teaching excellence and producing graduates with associate in arts degrees, associate in science degrees, college credit certificates, and workforce-ready credentials. The Colleges District Board of Trustees recently approved offering a new Bachelor of Science program in Exceptional Education and Elementary Education. We’re looking for passionate educators to join our faculty ranks for this new BS degree program.

Tallahassee is home to two state universities, Florida State University and Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University. TCC strategically partners with the universities to afford greater opportunities for all students, faculty, and surrounding communities. TCC also partners with area businesses and organizations to meet local workforce needs that align with the college’s degree, certificate, and workforce programs.   

Coordinator responsibilities securing field experience placement experiences and establishing partnerships with local schools for TCC’s Teacher Preparation programs. Teaching duties within the Exceptional Education and Elementary Education BS degree program is also required.  Starting salaries for the position is competitive and commensurate with degrees and experience.      

PRACTICUM COORDINATOR for TEACHER PREPARATION PROGRAMS

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Master's degree in education, early childhood education, educational curriculum development, and/or field related to instruction/education. Or a master’s degree plus 18 graduate semester hours in education, early childhood education, educational curriculum development, and/or field related to instruction/education.

  • Must hold a valid Florida Professional Educator Certification(s) (Not endorsements) in one or more of the following: Elementary Education (K-6), Reading (K-12), English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), Exceptional Student Education (K-12), and/or Reading (K-12).

  • Must have completed at least 3 years of successful, relevant prekindergarten through grade 12 teaching, student services, or school administration experience.
