Research Assistant (m/f/d)

(100 % Entgeltgruppe 13 TV-L)

until 30.08.2028, with the option of continued employment. Selection is based on suitability, qualification and professional performance. Working tasks :

Quantum chemical simulation of chemical gas phase etching of silicon and silicon dioxide Quantum chemical simulation of catalytic effects in chemical gas phase etching of silicon and silicon dioxide Development of atomistic models of the surface-processes related to gas-phase etching of silicon and silicon dioxide Model-based screening of potential etchants and catalysts with focus on sustainability (optionally supported by machine learning methods) Contribution to model-based sustainability assessment and life-cycle-analysis Adaption and improvement of simulation methods and tools Publication of results in scientific journals and presentation on conferences Cooperation with national and international partners within the European project “Novel approaches for halogen-free and sustainable etching of Silicon and Glass”

You will use your research results for scientific publications and your own qualification. This is a position for further scientific qualification.

If you want to join our interdisciplinary and highly motivated team in academically exploring a topic of high practical relevance, you should bring along the following  qualifications and traits :

Applicants must hold a Master’s degree or equivalent in physics, chemistry, electrical engineering or related courses Knowledge in computational chemistry, especially in electron structure simulation Experiences in high-performance-computing on Linux-systems and the scripting language Python Background in semiconductor technology is welcome First experiences in machine learning methods would complement your skill set We expect team work, creativity, independent and organized scientific work and interest in innovative solutions and result-oriented work

You must also fulfil the recruitment requirements according to § 73 SächsHSG.
