Job Description

As an IP Manager, you will play a pivotal role in handling intellectual property matters in the Transportation and LS&E sectors globally, with a focus on Germany and Europe. Reporting to the Head of Patents, you will collaborate with various stakeholders, contribute to IP strategy development, and support MANN+HUMMEL group IP department.

Your responsibilities:

Manage and oversee IP rights, freedom to operate evaluations, and IP enforcement activities within the Transportation & LS&E business units Provide expert consultation on all IP legal matters and related subjects, collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders Develop and implement innovative strategies for identifying and protecting intellectual property, ensuring freedom to enter new fields of business. Proactively encourage the development teams to enhance MANN+HUMMEL's IP portfolio through continuous innovation Offer IP support for contract negotiations and work closely with the internal legal counsels on contract-related matters Conduct IP trainings to increase awareness and knowledge within the organization


REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Hold a university degree in physics, engineering, or another related area of study Certification Qualified Patent Attorney or Agent in any jurisdiction, preferably EP, DE, US, is considered as advantage Experience: Possess at least 3 years of professional experience in IP management, including drafting and prosecuting patent applications, drafting, and negotiating contracts, involvement in M&A projects, and litigation Required Skills: Demonstrated expertise in Mechanical and/or Material Science industry-related IP matters. Experience with licensing, joint development agreements, and collaboration with universities and start-up companies is an advantage. Experience with transportation industry is a plus Language Skills: Fluent English skills, proficiency in German is an advantage Competencies: Able to work independently while also displaying strong communication and teamwork skills.
