The project

Signaling via ion channel receptors is pivotal for the function of the nervous system and various neurological diseases. Our goal is to characterize acid-sensing ion channels at the molecular, cellular, and organismal levels. Currently, we focus on the characterization of auxiliary proteins. In addition to electrophysiology, we employ state-of-the-art molecular and chemical biology techniques. You will be part of a highly motivated, friendly, multidisciplinary, international team.

Profile

The successful applicant will have the following qualifications:

PhD or MD degree  Strong interest in ion channel research  Expertise in electrophysiology or  Expertise in cell biology/microscopy/Ca2+ and pH imaging Some experience with the analysis of protein trafficking/subcellular fractionation or homology modeling/molecular docking would be an asset. High motivation and excitement to work in an international team Proficiency in spoken and written English (Level C2)
