Vor 3 Tagen
Reporting to the Senior Director of Corporate and Digital Communications, this role is responsible for in-country activities, such as: media engagement, corporate press releases, executive visibility and thought leadership opportunities, spokesperson training, digital platform storytelling and content development, paid awareness campaigns and other opportunities in priority markets. Close partnership with Product & Pipeline Communications will ensure that product news is adequately disseminated and contextualized within each market. Collaboration with our Patient Advocacy and Corporate Responsibility teams will ensure that local communications messaging and programs reflect Regeneron’s patient-focused and ethical approach, with specific adaptation in each country.
They will also collaborate closely with Internal Communications to help bolster information-sharing, morale and sense of inclusivity among international colleagues by producing intranet features, orchestrating executive visits and forums, and crafting other programming.
This candidate will find greater success if they establish and foster relationships with functional leaders in international markets, such as site leads, regulatory, legal and compliance. This role will require a balance of ensuring consistency in corporate messaging across regions with appropriate flexibility to reflect local regulations and customs.
Across all Corporate Affairs functions and within the larger company this role serves as a liaison and strategic partner: cascading international decisions, updates and issues that may impact Corporate Affairs activities, and communicating corporate information that will affect news flow and behaviors within the international markets.
This role requires a strong understanding of the global healthcare and regulatory environment, scientific and media landscapes, as well as workforce dynamics. In addition, the candidate should think cross-functionally and ‘company first’ as we shape and protect Regeneron’s corporate reputation beyond the US.
As Director, Corporate Communications, you will:
- Lead cross-functionally, manage a small team and direct a global communications agency; coordinate closely with Corporate Communications leadership in the U.S.
- Work collaboratively across Corporate Affairs to ideate and produce digital content for in-country websites, issue local disclosures and announcements, brainstorm story concepts for internal communications, craft materials to support in-country outreach by Patient Advocacy and local sales force teams, work with Corporate Responsibility team to understand local ESG regulations and philanthropy/volunteerism best practices.
- Develop and foster relationships with in-country functional leaders, including Commercial, Global Development and G&A, in North America, Europe and Asia.
- Advance corporate awareness and reputation outside the U.S. through structured media engagement, thought leadership opportunities, and paid campaigns.
- Refine corporate content and materials for adaptation in local markets; ensure appropriate legal, regulatory and medical approvals are secured.
- Serve as ambassador for corporate brand, ensuring local application aligns with corporate guidelines.
- Support efforts that sustain culture via global and local employee engagement strategies.
- Identify operational gaps where process or policy might improve efficiency.
- Continuously evaluate priorities, issues and country requests in a fast-paced operating environment.
The work is both strategic and tactical in nature (e.g., conducting landscape analyses, creating market-specific awareness and media strategies, and developing standard tool kits for in-country customization). Required skills include strategic planning, creative planning/execution, employee engagement and change communications, media relations, issues management, content creation, social media/digital execution, measurement, people management across countries, cultural sensitivity, and influencing outside a reporting line. Familiarity with international patient advocacy and corporate responsibility practices will also add value.
This role might be for you if you have/are:
- Bachelor’s Degree: minimum of 12 years of relevant communications experience within the biopharma industry, with corporate, internal and change management capabilities
- An outstanding communicator with global and in-country expertise; adept at creating partnerships and working collaboratively to meet shared objectives and goals
- PR experience (in-house or agency); ideally experience with building corporate reputation
- High level of professionalism and cheerful diplomacy with a Regeneron-first mindset; confidence to share new ideas and influence partners across a highly matrixed organization
- Strong analytical capabilities; ability to reach sound decisions quickly, often with incomplete information, in a fast-moving and fast-growing organization
- Excellent writer, editor and storyteller; ability to translate complex information with a varied, thoughtful and creative approach for different audiences
- Willingness to stretch between high-level strategy and tactical execution, often within the same day
- Relevant knowledge and experience creating content in integrated digital media formats (intranets, video, mobile, etc.)
- Ability to lead agency partners and manage associated resources and budget
- Detail-oriented; strong organizational, prioritization, and project management skills
- Passion for science and patient impact; curiosity and desire to learn
- Flexibility to regularly participate in meetings held during European and U.S. working hours; occasional international travel (3-4 trips per year)
The successful candidate will join a high-performing Corporate Affairs team, which thinks strategically and executes at a high level to support our fast-growing company and unique culture -- where colleagues are passionate about their work and our mission to bring important new medicines to patients in need. The team is focused on strengthening Regeneron’s reputation by developing strategies and programs that (1) distinguish our science, medicines and patient focus, (2) drive employee engagement, deepen connection to our mission and sustain culture and (3) advance and differentiate our corporate responsibility commitments.
