To strengthen our R&D Packaging Support Center in Trier, we are looking for a Packing Trainee (m/f/d) for 2 years with long term career opportunities within the Packaging department.

Your job mission:

In the process of a 2-year trainee program you will gain broad packaging knowledge, expertise and skills in order to gradually take over key parts of the responsibilities a packaging manager has in each of the four sub-functions: Print and Design Implementation, Qualification & Standards, Packaging Technology and Emerging Technology.

Your tasks:

Packaging Technology : Serve as central contact for Global Innovation & Initiatives, Global Supply Chain and Local Marketing & Sales with regard to packaging system developments (conversion and packing) and linked material developments Print & Design Implementation : Gradually take over role as central contact person for HQ Brand / Local marketing / GBS and RDS with focus on packaging development. Provide project guidance in regards to technical execution Serve as an interface between R&D Packaging and external packaging partners Conduct approval process of color standards at first trial & commercial print productions Support factories in case of complaints Packaging Qualification & Standards : Support the team in supplier qualifications, surveillance audits, packaging specification management and Quality Management System (QMS) maintenance activities Emerging & Technology Development : Gain overall knowledge and understanding what the emerging technologies are, how projects can be kicked-off and proceeded with, which elements are important to materialize in the markets and other key factors in technology development Conduct research on patent related works and identify new emerging technologies and project scopes Assess scope of technologies’ feasibility and prepare needed information for internal and external stakeholders Conduct steps for technology qualification that are trial at suppliers and JTI factories

Your profile:

Relevant educational background:  Completed apprenticeship in Print or Packaging ( printer, packaging technologists, repro operator/designer within the FMCG industry) with subsequent University degree or technical degree in Packaging Technology Practical experience:  First working experience in the FMCG area is considered a plus Va luable knowledge:  Profound knowledge of MS Office as well as MS-Teams Special strengths:  Ability to work effectively in an international environment / Fluency in English (written and spoken) other languages advantageous Suitable personality: Self-learning attitude and keen interest in embracing Agile principles / High sense of team orientation as well as excellent communication skills Practiced working time model:  Flextime
